Hansi Flick vents his anger on four Barcelona players, most notably Lamine Yamal.

Barcelona, Spain — FC Barcelona manager Hansi Flick continues to uphold his strict disciplinary standards, with punctuality remaining a cornerstone of his leadership approach. The German tactician, known for his no-nonsense attitude, recently reprimanded Lamine Yamal, Ansu Fati, Iñigo Martínez, and Fermín López for arriving late to a morning training session.
The four players appeared relaxed as they walked onto the pitch—Yamal even drew attention by performing Cristiano Ronaldo’s trademark celebration toward the stands. However, their casual demeanor was not well received. Flick, already waiting on the field, addressed their tardiness directly. Midfielder Gavi, already on the pitch, attempted to hasten their pace by calling them over to join the rest of the squad.
Flick’s firm stance is not new. Since taking over at Barça, he has made punctuality a non-negotiable rule. Defender Jules Koundé has previously been reprimanded for lateness, and goalkeeper Iñaki Peña reportedly lost his starting role due to similar behavior.
“When he set the rules, I wasn’t here yet, but I saw them when I arrived and was warned to be cautious,” recalled forward Pau Víctor in an earlier interview. “He’s very strict about time. If training is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. and you show up three seconds late, to him, you’re late.”
Flick’s disciplinary approach reflects his broader vision for restoring order and competitiveness at the club as he aims to instill a high-performance culture within the squad.
