4 reasons behind Xavi’s anger in front of Real Sociedad
The Spanish coach Xavi Hernandez, Barcelona coach, entered into a state of anger despite the victory over Real Sociedad in the 12th round of La Liga.
Xavi admitted after the match that the team’s performance was poor and deserved a deep self-evaluation.
According to the Spanish newspaper “Mundo Deportivo”, Xavi’s anger after the match was due to four main reasons, the first of which was the terrifying start as a result of the gifts that Barcelona players gave to Sociedad.
She pointed out that in the first three minutes, Barça lost the ball 3 times from Gavi, Cancelo, and Jules Kounde, and this posed a great threat to the Catalan team’s goal, especially the ball that the French defender lost and which goalkeeper Andre ter Stegen succeeded in saving.
Xavi’s anger is also due to the weak pressure exerted by Barcelona players on Sociedad, as he believes that the trio of Joao Felix, Lewandowski and Cancelo did not do their best to confuse the opponent.
Barcelona also left space between the midfield and attack, allowing Real Sociedad to get the ball out easily.
Barcelona also suffered against Sociedad from the players’ lack of enthusiasm and their loss of tackles, something Xavi said after the match and described as “unacceptable.”
Xavi believes that Barcelona lost the midfield battle in the match, as Merino, Bryce Mendes and Zobimendi outperformed the Barca trio of Javi, Firmin and Gundogan.
The last point that angered Xavi was the lack of effectiveness over the 90 minutes, as in the first half Barca only made a weak shot from Fermin, and in the second half the first shot came in the 90th minute from Ronald Araujo.
