Unai Emery does not want to get rid of an essential footballer in its plans and the club makes it clear that it will not negotiate his transfer
The meeting of the agent of Juan Foyth (24 years old) with Mateu Alemany has been received with surprise and concern in Villarreal, since the Argentine is a key player in Unai Emery’s schemes.
After learning of Barça’s interest in the Argentine defender, the journalists who follow the day of the Castellón club, such as Xavi Sidro from Cadena SER, agree that Villarreal will not negotiate his transfer and refer to the player’s clause, which is of 42 million euros.
Foyth was acquired by Villarreal last summer, after having played on loan from Tottenham. Then they paid 15 million for a footballer who arrived as a central defender and has triumphed as a right back. He is the undisputed starter for Emery and they are not willing to let him out, so they ‘demand’ the payment of the termination clause.
It is clear that it will not be a simple negotiation for Barça, whose economic situation also conditions the arrival of Foyth. Waiting to be able to register Koundé and unblock the arrival of Marcos Alonso, the incorporation of the Argentine defender will only be possible if there are significant departures or salary reductions beforehand.
One of the options is that Barça try to include a footballer in the operation and the first name that appears is that of Abde, intended by Emery for his Villarreal.
